Emmons, George T. (1852 - 1945)

Emmons graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1874. In 1882 he was stationed in Alaska, remaining there through to the 1890s. During that time he became interested in Northwest Coast cultural groups, so he began recording information and collecting artifacts.
