Biography

Linda Gabriel (Joe) learned weaving in 1986 from Wendy John Grant at Musqueam, and has been weaving on and off since then. She was raised with wool as both of her parents were knitters, and already knew how to wash sheep's wool, hang it to dry and spin it. She joined a Salish weaving class in 1997 with instructors Debra and Robyn Sparrow. There were nine other women from Musqueam, including herself, in this class. They learned the basics of roving, spinning, warping and weaving small and large scale weavings.
