Biography

Arthur Moody was the chief of the Tanu Wolf Clan, and a son or stepson of Thomas Moody. Arthur learned carving from Robert Miller and made many poles. Rufus Moody is the son of Arthur Moody. "Certain common stylistic tendencies run through the work of all three: short-beaked ravens, sharp cutoffs between figures, and with Arthur and Rufus, proclivity for creating giant-sized poles" (Drew, 1980:254). Moody was also an accomplished band player.
