Biography

Norma Rose Point was from Seabird Island (Sto-lo); her mother, Teressa(sp?) was David Charles' sister. Rose married Cagney Point from Musqueam in the 1950s, and lived on the Musqueam reserve from then on. She was also related to the Nlaka'pamux through her mother. She was a strong advocate for First Nations children and families, and was passionate about education. She was a UBC alumna, served as Education Coordinator for the Musqueam Indian Band, Elder at the UBC First Nations House of Learning and Institute for Aboriginal Health and Elder Advisor at BCIT.
