Used for weapon in warfare and hunting. Arrows were typically poisoned when used for warfare.
Narrative
Mrs. Stephens stated that she and her late husband Dr. Treutle were entering Ituri forest when these arrows were shot at them.
Physical description
An arrow with a shaft (part a) made of rounded light brown wood. There is a small lance-olate-shaped iron arrow point (part b) that has an incised line down the middle on both sides along with six pairs of barbs below. A dried leaf fits through a slit at the end of the shaft. At the end of the shaft, there is a horizontal band that has four small grooves, and a simple finial at the end.
