Masked man in front of large grouse face. Colours are red, yellow, black, blue, and red. The man is in profile and facing to the right sided. The mask is decorated with black leaves and red and yellow hair. The man is wearing a black cape with light-coloured tear drop shapes within. His is wearing red and yellow clothing and ankle bands. His left arm is outstretched in front while his right arm is bent at the elbow as the hand is holding a green, yellow, and red bird-head figure. Behind him, there is a large face with circular black pupils and eyes surrounded by an oval that has points at both ends with thick brows above. The mouth is red with sideways green u forms at either side. Has feathery ears. Pencil inscription along the bottom edge reads 'GROUSE' with "Allen James' written in blue ink. The painting is on a vertically rectangular, cream-coloured paper piece from a spiral book.
