Narrative
Davidson was representing the Eagle and Raven crests of the Haida people. He developed this image for his uncle, Alfred Davidson, one of three men to be ordained Deacon in the Church of St. John the Evangelist, Old Massett. The ceremony was held 9 October 1977.
Physical description
Printer’s trial proof for ordination invitation. Image depicts a raven in profile, facing left, with an eagle wing. Narrow, tube-like body with disproportional wing, talon and tail feathers. Colours are black and red. A black dot and 'H' type design are on the left.
