History of use
Square of material, joined at two adjacent corners by a small tab. Worn in two manners; one method was over the neck, with the tab at the throat and the material arranged over the shoulders, the other method was over a felt hat with the tab at the front and with the material draped over the hat, covering the sides and back of the head.
Narrative
Purchased in the Huaras Indian market from Emma Morale, who made the shawl in the town where she lives, Monterey, a few kilometers north of Huaras.

Physical description
Small, rectangular green wool shawl with white stitching along the edges and floral design in the bottom corners. There is a lighter green fabric strip that attaches the two sides together.
