History of use
The obi ita is inserted between the obi and the kimono to keep the kimono from becoming wrinkled.
Narrative
Kimono set acquired by donor in 1970, while she was involved with missionaries in the village of Ueda; she wore the kimono for special cermemonies while residing in Japan.
Physical description
Obi stay, for a woman's kimono. Slightly oval cardboard shape has a pink floral satin-like cover stitched to one side and a stiff white synthetic backing.
