Narrative
Rosita Tovell's father was a collector of Peruvian pre-Columbian ceramics. Rosita moved to Peru in the early 1960s, while her husband served as ambassador to Peru and Bolivia. During this time Rosita began to study and collect pre-Columbian Peruvian ceramics and textiles.
Physical description
Large, nearly square cloth constructed in a small weave, in several shades of brown. Patterning is dense, made of small ovals. A large grid covers the surface, within which are similar patterns containing a circle inside a square, surrounded by loose ovals. Edges of the cloth have been hemmed for display.
