Narrative

Made from serpentinite from the Kangiqsuqutaq quarry at Korok Inlet. The artist's husband, Iyola Tunnillie, obtained the stone for her to carve.

Physical description

Sculpture of a seated female figure with her legs tucked underneath her and one shoe showing on her right side. Woman has one hand on her knee and the other holds a piece of quartz in her lap. Woman is carved as wearing a short-sleeved dress and wears a crown that has five small pieces of quartz projecting up from the top of it. The hair and eyes are carved but left unpolished, unlike the other highly polished areas.
