Typical style of everyday wear for Tinta women. The tradition of regionally distinctive dress is still a feature of some of the remote villages of highland Peru. The costumes are a mixture of Spanish influence with surviving indigenous aspects and materials.

Physical description

Unbleached cotton, long-sleeved blouse with high round neck and a slight opening down the front. The cuffs have a lace trim. Around the collar are two pieces of white cotton decorated with a strip of lace down the middle followed by a band of lace with silver metallic embroidery. Stitched finished hem.
