Bi-pointed Dagger

About this object

Narrative

Said to have been collected by Donald MacKay while he was the Indian Commissioner for BC, 1937-1948. According to Bill Holm (2004), only the really early daggers are fluted on both sides. He also commented that the straight-sided centre area is unusual on this one.

Physical description

Double-ended, double-edged wrought iron dagger. Both blades are triangular-shaped with a double ridge running across the middle in line with the handle in between. One blade is longer than the other.
