Alan Sawyer notes: Late 19th century; sold by the Peabody Museum as 'duplicate materials' many years ago; purchased by the donors from a New York dealer in 1963.
Physical description
One-piece wand carved from dark brown hard wood. Shaft flattens out and flares to paddle shapes at both ends. Curve of ends and shaft elevated by carving out large sections between the two. Dark brown patina.
