Physical description
Byzantine coin of Phocas, 602-610. Obverse: Two rulers standing and facing front, both wearing crowns; Phocas is on the left, holding a globus cruciger; Empress Leontia, who has a halo, is on the right, holding a long cruciform sceptre; to left, inscription says ‘MFOCA’; to right, it is illegible. Reverse: large ‘M’; to left, ‘ANNO’ in a vertical position; to right, ‘I’; above, cross; in exergue, ‘KYZB’.
