Physical description
Byzantine coin of Heraclius, 610-641. Obverse: bust of Heraclius, facing front; he wears a plumed helmet; to left, he holds a cross; to right, he holds a shield; to left, it says ‘hRA’; to right, there is an upside-down ‘ANNO’. Reverse: large ‘M’; to left, ‘ANN[O]’ in a vertical position; to right, ‘III’; above, cross; beneath, ‘A’; in exergue, ‘KYZ’. This coin has been overstruck.
