The 5 ears of corn are the 5 maize goddesses; bird-like image is our mother, Kukuruku, in dove form - principle maize deity; snake, water for irrigation.
Physical description
Yarn painting. Brightly coloured square yarn painting affixed with beeswax to plywood board. The design consists of two yellow cornstalks dividing the area into three vertical sections. The sides and top have a blue ground while the centre is dark red. There are two rodent-like animals in the centre section; one has long protruding tongue. Above animals is a downward facing bird with wings extended at sides. Around the sides and bottom are white, yellow, orange and red creatures; the top has a long snake of the same colours. Bordering the design are white, pink and green stripes.
