Main body of vest woven with stripes of solid colour with panels of resist-dyed warp threads (ikat) woven in a balanced plain weave. Vest has been constructed with machine sewing around neckline, armholes, front opening and lower edge. Embroidery around armholes, neckline and vest's lower edge. Bast fibre ties at front opening have been twisted and knotted around tassled ends.

Physical description

Vest made of dyed bast fibre with a woven pattern of vertical bands and chevrons. Embroidered at neckline and armholes with off-white bast fibre, and at the bottom hem with white cotton fibre in a band of white triangles. Strings with tassels at the ends serve as closures, and there is a fringe along the bottom hem.
