Carved argillite, oval shaped plate with operculum shells inlayed around the rim. The centre of the plate has a halibut, carved in relief with incised fins, gills, mouth and eyes. At the mouth of the halibut is a small, rectangular shaped feast dish decorated with a seal? Next to the stomach of the fish is wolf who is looking at the eagle sitting on the halibut’s tail. In front of the eagle is a frog and across from the wolf is a bear standing on its hind legs. All of the four figures are three dimensional and have inlaid abalone eyes.
