Pocket Pouch

About this object

History of use

During the 19th century, beadwork replaced quillwork. Early beadwork was on skins, sewn on with sinew thread. After the introduction of woven textiles, broadcloth and velvet became the basis for most of the bead embroidery, and commercial thread replaced sinew for sewing.
