Bima figure.
Physical description
Tall freestanding figure of a woman carved from heavy wood. The head is elongated, with a long face decorated with a linear pattern of dots. The eyes are oblong and large. Nose protrudes and is rectangular. The protruding mouth is small. Feathers and seeds top the head. Breasts hang from the chest and are decorated with a series of small dots and crossing lines, as is the stomach. The pubic area has grass adhered to it, mimicking hair. Buttocks are defined. The legs are short and widely spaced, painted with large dots of white, orange, yellow and grey. The base is small and round, painted orange.
