The Iris is a symbol of summer. The calligraphy translates as "flowering plants of the four seasons".

Calligraphy and chop signature in lower corner on left. Mounted on paper backed silk; black and white silk tie at top; two ribbons of silk with cloud design at top near tie. Wooden cylinder at bottom and half round one at top.
