History of use

Inuit arrowheads were made from stone, bone, ivory, and antler until metal became the predominant material. Arrow shafts usually feathered. After rifle was introduced, bow and arrow became obsolete.

Physical description

Small, triangular-shaped metal head with 18.1 cm. Long shaft hollowed out on back, one large gouge on front. Metal shaft inserted in wood and both bound with sinew. Top and bottom of split feather bound onto both sides of shaft's notched nock end with sinew.
