Wall Calendar

Physical description

A long, vertically rectangular calendar that has a bottom part consisting of three tear away sewn pages containing four months side-by-side in the year 1994 in English in blue and orange and to the right side an area for 'notes'. The main part of the calendar has the image of the deity Balaji in an abstract form with a black face that has two vertically rectangular, white pieces on his forehead. His right hand is white with the palm facing downward toward the viewer. His other hand and his feet are gold. Two predominant objects are at either side of the figure, a flowered disc on the left side and a conch shell shape on the right side. Two smaller similar shapes are at each respective shoulder. The figure is surrounded by a wide, elaborate, gold archway with a hanging lamp at either side and a red and blue background. The floor is covered in mounds of gold coins. In between the image and the months is a light blue section with dark blue script; in the lower right corner, it reads 'PRINCE FINE ART P.S.R. ROAD, SIVAKASI'. Just above this, there is an image of a scooter. On the opposite side, there is a three-wheeled covered vehicle. There is a metal support folded over the top edge and a flat braided yellow fibre loop attached at the top back centre.
