Physical description
Byzantine coin of Alexius I, 1081-1118. Obverse: patriarchal cross on two steps; to left, ‘AK’ in a vertical position; to right, ‘[Δ]Φ’ in a vertical position. Reverse: bust of Alexius I, facing front; he wears a loros, an embroidered and jewelled scarf; to left, he holds a jewelled sceptre; to left, inscription says ‘AΛE’.
