About this object

Narrative

Blanket was said to have been collected by Howard Roloff from the Songhees Reserve near Esquimalt, but he said it originated from Coal's Bay in Saanich. Edith Bevan-Cross acquired it from Roloff, then it passed to her son. After that it passed to a dealer, Thomas Stark, and then another person, who the donor purchased it from.

Physical description

Off-white woven goat wool blanket with herringbone twill weave and dark red trade cloth woven in along the top edge. Feathers and cedar bark are included in the weave. Fringe along one side.
