About this object
Narrative
Originally was part of a large family collection in Bella Bella. Collection was photographed by Philip Hobler. It belonged to Gertie White in 1969; after that it belonged to Clarence Martin, who sold it to Roloff.
Physical description
Brown wooden mask painted with red and dark red design along the forehead and cheek areas. Eye and nose areas painted green which extends around the sides of the cheek areas. Dimple area painted with red hatch marks. Red mouth and cut out nostrils. Black eyebrows, moustache, and goatee. Ears painted with red downward diagonal lines. Eyes cut out. String through a hole in the middle of each ear and tied around the back. Adze marks visible inside.
