This series (Hoeido Edition) was reproduced by Nihon Hanga Kenkyu-Sho Ltd. (Japan Institute for the Study of Woodblock Prints) through the skill of renowned modern engravers; it took three years to complete.

Physical description

Print depicting three people on a steep cliff overlooking a body of water. There are four boats with white sails in the water. A tall tree is in the middle of the print. In the background, there is a white mountain. Print of Yui Station (#16). This is one of a series of reproductions of the "53 Post Stations on the Tokaido Hwy," from Nihonbashi to Kyoto (Hoei-do edition). Print is matted on a piece of white-yellow paper and has an additional cover page that folds over the print. A printed inscription on the cover page reads: " YUI The mountain with the Satta Pass on it is now covered with loquat and orange trees. The train whisks through the tunnel under the pass in an instant. Looking down from the pass, one sees the glittering current of the Fuji River in the sea." There are Japanese characters at the top, bottom, and side of the printed message.
