Narrative

Was part of an exhibit at the UBC Art Gallery in 1973. Card says: "Nino de 10 a 20 anos, le ponen la mascara el primer diade su muerte para que no se le vean los ojos abiertos". Translation: "Boy, 10 to 20 years old, they put the mask on him on the first day of his death so they cannot see his open eyes."

Physical description

Mask represents a boy 10 to 20 years old. Black paint with prominent cheeks and chin. Small cut out eyes, and long rectangular nose. Cloth strip for hanging at back.
