Wall Calendar

Physical description

A long, vertically rectangular calendar that has a horizontal row of twelve months side-by-side on the lower portion and an image of Balaji on the upper portion. Calendar is in the year 1991 in English in dark blue. The main part of the calendar has the image of the deity Balaji with a black face that has two vertically rectangular, white pieces on his forehead. His right hand is white with the palm facing downward toward the viewer. His other hand and his feet are gold. At each shoulder, there is an object, a flowered disc on the left side and a conch shell shape on the right side. The figure is surrounded by a tall double-lobed gold archway. A pair of hanging lamps are at either side with another pair of lamps standing on the floor at either side. Two smaller praying deity statues are standing at either side, a winged one on the left side and Hanuman (monkey god) on the right side. The floor has some money. In between the image and the months, there is a light blue section with dark blue script, with a petalled flower at either side. There is a metal support folded over the top and bottom edges and a flat braided yellow fibre loop attached at the top back centre.
