Carving

Purchased from a shop in the airport lounge at the Entebbe Airport, August 1972.

Carving featuring three elongated faces entangled in a framework of long limbs. Each face has large round bulging eyes and a pained expression. The smallest face at the top lacks any features other than eyes and a wide open mouth, which may have had two teeth. The central face has a broad nose, and three teeth. The lowest face, which rests on the base, has a nose which blends into the upper lip, and a small toothless open mouth. Mound-like base with vertical concave grooves carved.
