About this object

Narrative

Artist name uncertain; attributed to Alexcee by Bill McLennan in 2008, based on style of painting. The seller, Ellis, was the curator at the Prince Rupert Museum in 1950.

Physical description

Moose skin robe with designs and fringe. The designs in the centre are incised and painted in red, green and black. There appears to be two figures in the design, the upper one possibly an octopus motif. There is fringe on three sides. The long fringe on the sides is meant to hang over the front of the wearer, from the shoulders.
