Narrative
Printed on a paper label on the back of the pole is 'Beasley Collection". Added by hand is "America N.W. Coast 18-3-1929'. Added in pen by a different hand is "Edenshaw c. 1890".
Physical description
Carved argillite model pole with concave back. The pole is in a conical shape seated on a rectangular, black base. The figures, from top to bottom are: raven, a human wearing a hat with four potlatch rings (the top of the hat is in the raven's beak); a bear's head emerging from a disc; and a hawk holding a killer whale in its talons.
