hinkiicim (Headdress)

Ceremonial Wolf dance headdress or mask.

Mask made from cut out planks of wood formed in a rectangular-like shape with flat sides, an adjoining nose piece and two cylindrical shaped pieces of wood at the back. Detailed in red, black and green Northwest Coast stylized forms with rectangular shaped ears, bared teeth and large eyes. Hanging from the back bar are short, thin strips of cedar bark.
