Model Paddle

The original owner of the paddle was Fred Nash. His grandfather Henry Edenshaw was Charles Edenshaw's cousin. Zoe Nash (the daughter of Fred Nash), purchased it from an auction at Lunds, in Victoria, in 2003 when her mother was selling her father's items after his death. Model canoe paddle, approximately 2/3 size of a regular paddle. Features a painted composition on each side of the blade. On one side is a killer whale, painted primarily in red with black detailing; on the opposite side is an otter, painted primarily in black with red detailing. The compositions are abstracted to fit the elongated shape of the paddle blade. Ovoid elements. Handle is unpainted.
