Stove Tile

Possibly painted by Bartolomäus Dill Riemenschneider (1500–ca. 1550), who lived and worked in Bolzano during the second quarter of the sixteenth century. He painted several altarpieces and equipped numerous Tyrolean castles with wall paintings, but his real specialty was the painting of stove tiles. It is also possible that these tiles were painted by his father, Tillmann Riemenschneider.
