Narrative

The jug’s style shows the transition from the end of the Bronze age to the early Iron age.

Physical description

Small ceramic wine jug (oinochoe). Body is globular, with a tall neck and trefoil mouth, and a vertical loop handle attached at back of neck. Base is flat, with a low foot. Vessel has a round eye on either side of the spout, mimicking a bird. Three line and dot motifs are painted on the shoulder at the front, whereas the handle is painted with stripes.
