Iconographic meaning

The workshops in Gmunden mainly produced marbled wares using a combination of coloured glazes. Wares painted in bright green, yellow, and blue were made until the middle of the nineteenth century.

Physical description

Circular white earthenware dish (plate) on flat base with ridge between shallow well sides and wide-angled rim. Painted on inside with wide green streaks to produce an open marbled effect.
