About this object

History of use

Costumes like this one are still worn for weddings, funerals and church festivals. In the past, this skirt would have been worn with a red flannel full petticoat and black shoes with low heels and silver buckles; today it is worn with lace-trimmed bloomers and high heels.

Narrative

This costume was acquired by the donor from a friend.
