Stonecut Print
Physical description
Small stonecut print on thin paper showing a foreshortened Inuit fisherman with harpoon and fishing implement in his hands. The figure squats next to a fishing hole in the ice so that only his knees and one of his feet can be seen. He wears a hooded parka and reclines underneath a partial enclosure. In the background, beyond this enclosure, there are two sticks vertically crossed. In the foreground, to the right of the fisherman, there is a large fish on the ground. The artist’s signature is written on the right side of the image.
