History of use
Tubular skirts are wrapped around the hips and worn with a belt or sash. The skirt material is commercially woven on a treadle loom. The randas (seam bands) are hand embroidered and often distinguishable as to village. Dark blue material with vertical white stripes is called variados.

Physical description
Skirt made of blue cotton with horizontal bands and stripes in lighter blue. The skirt has both horizontal and vertical seams, each finished with multicoloured decorative plain insertion stitched bands (randa) in cotton and synthetic fibre. The top selvedge edge is folded to the inside (14.5 cm).
