About this object

Originally listed by the donor as a knife from Nepal, however the knife appears to be a typical Spanish dagger from the Albacete region of Spain.

Physical description

Dagger type knife, with metal and bone handle and pointed metal blade. The handle has three parts, a narrow, round metal section below the stop, a wider section of alternating metal and bone inlays, and another metal section that tapers to a blunt point. The two metal sections on the handle are decorated with a dotted pattern. The sheath (part b) has a metal band at each end, with a brown, padded, leather case between. The top metal band on the sheath has a protruding hook.
