Narrative

Purchased by Alan's mother, Betty Bell, from the old Vancouver Art Gallery shop. Betty was a member of the VAG women's auxiliary, when the gallery was at its old location on Georgia Street.

Physical description

Bird carving; abstract, with minimal design. The bird has a rounded lower body and leans to its left. The body tapers in to the neck, with a small slightly angular beak, and two circular eyes drilled into the top of the head. Flat, circular base. Signed in syllabics Mi-ki.
