Right half of image dominated by a market(?). Shows groups of men, women and children buying food and socializing. Wide variety of clothing, including button-up shirts, button-up sweaters, wrap skirts and wrap shirts. All clothing is predominantly done in floral motifs. Two dogs are in the bottom right corner of the market(?), fighting over food. Red-orange brick buildings with reed roofs and white stone ornamentation behind the market(?). Left side of painting split from the right with tall trees and thick vegetation. On the left side, a shirtless woman is being lifted from a pond by two men. To the right of the pond, another woman, carrying a pot of water over her head, watches and lifts a hand towards the trio. In the background, there is a man and child hunting birds, and then a group of men harvesting plants from a large body of water. All the harvesters are wearing semi-spherical woven hats and knotted loincloths. Numerous animals throughout the painting, including birds, rodents, butterflies and snakes. In the background there are small, plain huts. There are two dragon-like creatures flying in the middle of the blue-grey sky. Artist signature along the bottom edge of the painting, in the water.
