A coin-like charm, which could have circulated; possibly palace coin-a special issue for court, a commemorative piece; possibly not from the period it purports to be from (Larson, David). Probably used as a token in a variation of the "Horse Coin Game" (Li, Min)>
Physical description
Round, square hole in centre, inner and outer rims on both sides, four seal-script Chinese characters on obverse; design of a standing figure depicting a general on the left, spear with stand on right, and two Chinese characters, on reverse. After the original Northern Zhou coin minted in A.D. 578.
