Large size circulating coin, value 10 cash coins. Higher value, due to inflation and military payments during Taiping uprising.
Physical description
Coin, round, with a four-sided hole at the centre, a rim around the outer edge and a centre hole. The obverse has four characters, and the reverse has four characters. Xianfeng zhongbao (top-bottom-right-left) in more relaxed style Chinese characters on obverse; boo fu left-right (mintmark) in Manchu, yi shi top, bottom (one-ten=value 10) in Chinese on reverse. File marks; dot obverse near top-right corner of centre hole; large hollows in rims; rim pits; depression on reverse rim top-right.
