Bracelet is part of a set of jewelry that collectively depict a family narrative about the artist's grandfather, Fred Cook, who caught a whale in his fishing net and set it free rather than allowing it to be captured. Six-sided bracelet (a) has a central image on each side. The sides are square in shape and are attached to the next side with a hinge. One of the squares has a half-circle cut out of the metal. The catch (b) for the bracelet extends above the bracelet. The catch is pin-like in shape, with a flat narrow body and a rounded moonstone set into the head of the catch. Artist inscription on back.
