Standing Tree

Black ink drawing on off-white paper; unframed. A tall tree fills the paper, with thick trunk at bottom, roots reaching outward. Large ovoid shapes represent tree boughs, smaller at top, overlapping, increasing in size towards bottom, where the two largest boughs nearly touch the ground. Each ovoid contains form line faces or patterns. At the foot of the tree a small figure grows from a thin branch emerging from the trunk, with broad face, twisted roots for arms, and four small roots as legs. Behind tree at top is a sky indicated by cross hatching, and clouds. An underdrawing in pencil is visible.
