Photo mechanical transfers were part of the printing process in the 1960s whereby an original artwork was photographed by special cameras to produce a high-contrast positive paper photograph, often on a reduced scale from the original.

Physical description

Black and white image depicting dead people on land and in canoes, with mourners amongst them. Background is filled entirely with a large Haida style figure with a protruding tongue. Signed and dated "Bill Reid - '65".
