Iconographic meaning

Said to be a ghost mask during Kwakwaka'wakw language project. In 1951, Mungo Martin said it represents a man who comes out of the woods, atlh!asamk.

Physical description

Oval shaped human face with small round eyes, large nostrils and closed mouth showing teeth of lower jaw. Slash design on face. Colours used are brown, red, black and white.
